Hi! I’m Elouise De Backer

I’m currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, where I’ve been developing my approach to design as a process rooted in concept and narrative. For me, a project starts long before form or material — it begins with an idea, a question, or a story that deserves to be explored and translated into space.

I’m particularly interested in how design can communicate meaning. Rather than focusing purely on aesthetics, I aim to build concepts that carry a clear intention and atmosphere, where every choice contributes to a larger narrative. This way of working allows me to create spaces that are not only functional, but also experiential and layered.

Beyond interior design, I’m curious about expanding into other creative fields. Scenography for theatre, film, and exhibitions fascinates me because of its strong connection to storytelling and immersion. I’m also drawn to animation in film and games, where narrative, movement, and visual language come together in different but equally compelling ways.

I see my practice as something evolving — shaped by exploration, curiosity, and a desire to keep learning across disciplines.
